NZ Rugby Ruling:

If you attend a Secondary School, then you must play rugby for that school as long as they can provide you with a team. There are no exceptions or dispensations allowed

The cost for the season is: $70.00 per player to be paid into the following account:

All boys will be issued with their playing jersey on the game day and as part of their fees players will also receive a pair of Waiuku College Rugby socks.

All Players must supply their own black shorts, rugby boots, mouth guards, school jacket and black track suit pants.

If you make the 1st XV, on game day you are asked to wear No1’s to the game and after match.

No1’s are as follows: White Collar Shirt, Waiuku College Tie, Good Black Pants, Good Black Shoes and Waiuku College School Jacket.

ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR THEIR MOUTH GUARD FOR ALL TRAININGS AND GAMES

 

Once coaching staff has sorted teams, they will appoint training days and times. Watch the sports notice board for updates.

All training takes place at with the Waiuku College rugby field or Waiuku Rugby Club fields.

The Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Season generally starts 2nd May 2020 with all teams playing in a round robin grading round. The competition round should start 13th June 2020, but is subject to change. With Semi-finals on 8th August 2020 and Finals on 15th August 2020.

All dates are subject to change but we will have them finalised by the beginning of next year.

We have already started getting our players together for the 2020 season.

We will be holding musters at the beginning of Term 1 to get an indication of other teams for the school.

If anyone is interested in any aspect of rugby, please contact Mr North or Mrs Coe. Otherwise please complete an Expression of Interest Form and this will be passed on to them.

All representative teams are selected by Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union.

Selectors come and watch our games after receiving recommendations from our coaches.

Counties Manukau currently offer U16 and U18 Representative sides.

They run academy sessions during the off season to keep key players involved.

We also have boys involved with Representative Maori Rugby age group teams.

Brandon Roberts the Counties Manukau Rugby Referee Officer has offered to come to the school and give any keen boys or girls an information talk all about how to become a Referee and what pathways are in it for you.
