UMPIRING

If you are wanting to know more about umpiring, please fill this out on your registration as well and we can give you all the dates for the Umpires Classes, you will be well looked after by the Waiuku Netball Centre, they have mentors at the centre helping you through the theory and practical process.

2019 Season $140 per player

2020 Season $100 per player (due to Covid-19 the season was run short)

The fees cover:

  • NZ Netball Northern Levy
  • Waiuku Netball Centre Registration Fee
  • Duty Levy for working bee
  • Canteen and Lolly Shop Duty
  • Hireage of Waiuku Netball courts and lights for training
  • Balls
  • Bibs
  • First Aid Kits

(these costs are divided between the number of teams we have each season)

We are hoping to provide all the teams for 2020 with dresses. All players must also have appropriate white ankle socks and the new Waiuku College Grey Hoodie and Waiuku College Jacket (both available at the Warehouse) they can also wear black track pants which makes up the sports tracksuit.

All teams will be supplied playing bibs and training bibs.

Please complete an Expression of Interest Form, and from here the information is given to the Netball Trials Committee.

Trials will take place at the Waiuku Netball Centre by a panel of 3 selectors, and the Waiuku Netball Centre provide us with umpires for these trials so each girl is given a fair chance of showing their netball ability. Each girl is guaranteed at least two trials, and there could be more if necessary. Please make sure you indicate on the registration form your 3 preferred positions. Please make sure you wear appropriate training gear, netball shoes and bring a water bottle.

For all girls not wishing to trial and want to make up your own team, please advise Mrs Coe ASAP and we are happy to take you under the College Club Name. Uniforms, Bibs, Balls, First Aid supplied to all teams.
We require each team to have at least 8 players, Named Adult Coach and Manager.

TRIALS FORMAT .
We are running a different format for our trials this year.
Trial 1.
This is for all Year 10,11,12 and 13.
Held at the Waiuku Netball Courts.
5.30 – 7.00pm
Dates: Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th, Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th February 2020.

At the conclusion of these trials, Gold and Silver teams will be announced. From here we will announce Bronze, Brass & Ivory

Trial 2.

This is for all Year 9 students
Held at the Waiuku Netball Courts.
5.30 – 7.00pm
Dates: Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th March 2020

Depending on numbers, we may need 1 more trial.

At the conclusion of this trial, Platinum will be named and then all other Year 9 teams.

Practise Times: All practises are held at the Waiuku Netball Centre. Once teams are named, their coach’s will work out the best time for training and we will book you a court at the centre.

Waiuku Netball Centre – Practice Roster

We do have other tournaments to attend around the Counties Manukau Area and also netball North Harbour. If you are in a team that is selected for these tournaments you will be notified earlier and there may be an extra charges for this.

College Gold attends the winter netball tournament. It is expected that all players selected for this team makes themselves available for this tournament. Costs will be confirmed in term two, tournament week takes place in week seven of term three.
