Guidance Support

Our Student Wellbeing/Hauora space is a calm, safe space for students needing counselling and/or support. It is staffed by 2 full-time Counsellors (Jillian and Fiona) and our Kaitautoko (Matua Selwyn Herewini).

Both counsellors receive referrals through parents, staff or directly from the students and are happy to reach out to students online for counselling during illness or home isolation. To make an appointment, students, staff, or parents can email the team directly. Students could use the Microsoft Teams chat page or slip a request for an appointment into the appointment box located on the outside of our space.

The counsellors are well-connected to agencies within the Franklin area and often make referrals to these agencies when the need arises. They also work closely with our school nurse -on site Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, as well as our sexual health nurse on-site on Wednesdays.
